Generation Z, aged between 18 and 28, considers the insurance industry to be associated with bureaucracy and slow processes, which leads them to not consider a career in this field. A study conducted by Cake & Arrow shows that 79% of respondents have never considered a job in insurance, and 49% do not wish to work in this sector.
The main reasons include concerns about the ethics of insurance companies, which are perceived as being more interested in profit than in fulfilling commitments to clients. Young people value work that offers them flexibility, creativity, and opportunities for growth, and the negative perception of the insurance field is exacerbated by a lack of information and effective communication. To attract talented young people, companies in this sector need to reinvent themselves and clearly communicate the values and opportunities they offer.
