The Secretary of State in the Ministry of Transport, Horațiu Cosma, announced the opening of the bypass around the municipality of Zalău, scheduled for Wednesday, after a long period of delays. The project, initiated in 2021, was affected by bureaucracy and execution problems, with deadlines exceeded by almost three years.

Horațiu Cosma emphasized the importance of this moment for the residents of Sălaj County, stating that the opening will significantly improve traffic in the town. The bypass, with a length of 5.5 kilometers, was built by a consortium of companies, including a Chinese company, and faced difficulties such as landslides and bureaucratic delays. The project was funded by European funds, and the authorities were involved in investigations regarding possible fraud related to the works. The opening of the bypass is considered an important step in the development of road infrastructure in the area.
