Termoenergetica Bucharest has begun testing the winter heating system / Tests are conducted at night, progressively, depending on the condition of the network

Termoenergetica Bucharest has progressively begun heating tests for the cold season, as the district heating system is extensive and the pipeline network is aging and undergoing modernization.

The tests are carried out at night, when temperatures in the capital are lower, and are intended to balance the installations and check the system’s operation. The pace of testing is adjusted according to existing breakdowns, work being carried out in various areas, and the condition of the pipelines.

Modernization work will continue during the cold season, but only in areas where temporary replacement systems are available. These replacement pipelines allow interventions on the underground network without interrupting the supply of heating to residents.

Termoenergetica is asking homeowners’ associations to check their internal installations, complete work in their buildings, and ensure that radiators have been bled. Associations that wish to postpone the heating supply may submit a request.

The start of heating is not set by a fixed date. According to the law, the supply of heating begins when the outside temperature is no higher than 10 degrees Celsius for three consecutive nights, between 8:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m.
