Teodor Țigan, former director of the Arad Forestry Directorate, has definitively lost the case at the Timișoara Court of Appeal, which rejected his appeal against the dismissal decision and ordered him to return a retirement bonus of 280,520 lei. The court upheld the decision of the Arad Tribunal, which established that Țigan improperly requested the retirement bonus.
The Minister of the Environment, Diana Buzoianu, stated that Țigan was paid for a forest road that, in reality, was not built, and the retirement request was not properly communicated to Romsilva. She emphasized that Țigan continued to be employed and to receive a pension, contrary to the law. The bonus was erroneously approved by a subordinate, instead of the general director of Romsilva, which led to a violation of the legislation. Buzoianu announced that she would send the report of the Control Body to the Prosecutor's Office for further investigations.
