CNAIR: Traffic on the 16 kilometers of the A7 Highway, the bypass of Bacău, is temporarily closed for connection / Traffic will be diverted through the town

Since August 17, the car traffic on the bypass route of Bacău, part of the A7 Highway, has been temporarily closed to allow for the connection to the new sections under construction. The closure will last approximately two weeks, during which all traffic will be diverted through the town.

The decision was made at the request of the contractor UMB, which is working on the A7 sections around Bacău, in collaboration with CNAIR and IGPR. The contractor UMB is under pressure from the deadline for PNRR funds, which must be used by the end of August 2026, according to HotNews.

So far, about 200 kilometers of the A7 have been opened, and another 121 are under construction, all funded through PNRR.
