The dynamiting of the mountain for the Robești tunnel has begun, part of the Sibiu-Pitești Highway. The tunnel will be 900 meters long and will be completed by 2028.

Cristian Pistol, the director of CNAIR, announced that the blasting works for the construction of the Robești tunnel have begun, part of section 2 (Boița-Cornetu) of the Sibiu-Pitești Highway. The tunnel will be 900 meters long and will require the excavation of 200,000 cubic meters of material, the use of 70 tons of explosives, 60,000 cubic meters of concrete, and 4,000 tons of reinforcement.

The works will take place daily, and the contract for this lot, valued at 4.250 billion lei (excluding VAT), must be completed by 2028. Sections 2 and 3 of the highway, which traverse mountainous areas, present a high degree of technical difficulty, including seven tunnels and 48 viaducts, bridges, and passages.
