Authorities in Cluj-Napoca have implemented a smoking ban in public transport stations, parks and public sports facilities, starting August 13. The aim is to discourage smoking and protect non-smokers from second-hand smoke. Exceptions are allowed only for outdoor events, where organizers must set up smoking areas. Mayor Emil Boc underlined the importance of a healthy environment for children and athletes, saying that parks and transportation stations are not places for smoking.
