According to a recent decision, the circulation of electric scooters is prohibited in parks, playgrounds, sports fields, school yards, and in the pedestrian area of the city center of Buzău. Additionally, scooters are not allowed to circulate on Cuza Vodă and Aleea Trandafirilor streets.

The director of the Buzău Local Police, Adrian Teodorescu, emphasized that these restrictions are necessary due to the significant increase in accidents involving electric scooters. Local PNL councilor, Irinel Cîrstea, proposed identifying a special space for scooter users to ensure their safety. The project was adopted with 20 votes in favor and one abstention, and fines for non-compliance with the restrictions range between 500 and 1,500 lei. This measure comes after the Piatra Neamț City Hall banned rented scooters.
