Sector 6 City Hall restricts electric scooters in parks and limits their speed to 15 km/h on eight roads

Bucharest’s Sector 6 City Hall has introduced restrictions on electric scooters in several parks, on the Morii Lake Embankment and on sections of eight major roads, following residents’ reports and incidents caused by improper use of the vehicles. The measures were requested by the Local Police to improve pedestrian safety.

Scooter traffic is blocked by limiting the speed to 0 km/h in Drumul Taberei, ANL – Constantin Brâncuși, Liniei, Tudor Vladimirescu, Timișoara No. 10, Păcii, Crângași, Marin Preda, Nicolae Filimon and 9 Mai parks, as well as on the Morii Lake Embankment.

On Drumul Taberei, 1 Mai Boulevard, Ghencea Boulevard, Timișoara Boulevard, Apusului Street, Uverturii Boulevard, Iuliu Maniu Boulevard and Preciziei Boulevard, the speed must be limited to a maximum of 15 km/h in both directions and on the sections indicated by the Local Police.

Bolt confirmed that all restrictions have been implemented. Splash has already blocked scooter traffic in the parks, but needs 30–40 days to implement the speed limit, as a technical feature must be developed. The Local Police will continue checks to protect pedestrians.
