The authorities in Sinaia have announced that the ski area remains closed on Saturday due to severe weather conditions, which have caused problems for the cable transport installations. Massive ice deposits on the roller batteries of the pillars have made it impossible to start the ski lifts and the gondola that connects the altitudes of 1,400 and 2,000 meters in the Bucegi Massif.
The administrators emphasized that all slopes at an altitude of 2,000 meters are closed for the safety of tourists, and ski-pass cards are not available. However, the section 2 cable car and the Sinaia gondola operate on certain segments. The administrators warned tourists not to descend into the closed areas, as maintenance teams are working on the installations. The same problems led to the closure of the slopes on Friday as well.
