Simona Halep terminated her image contract with AnimaWings after the company filed for insolvency / “So far, I have not benefited financially from this partnership”

Simona Halep announced that she had decided to terminate her image contract with AnimaWings, following the emergence of public information regarding the airline’s situation. The former athlete said that she had been caught off guard by the developments and had waited for clarification before making any statements.

The partnership between Simona Halep and AnimaWings, through which the athlete became a brand ambassador, had been announced in May 2026. Halep maintains that she entered into the collaboration in good faith, based on the information presented at the time and because she believed in the potential of the Romanian project.

In a message posted on Instagram, she emphasized that she had not had and does not have any role in the company’s management or in its commercial, financial, and operational decisions. Halep also stated that, to date, she had not received any financial benefit from the partnership.

The athlete said that she regretted the situation and that the company’s priority should be to quickly find solutions for affected passengers, as well as to provide clear explanations. She described the end of the collaboration as sudden and unexpected, stating that the partnership had initially been intended as a long-term one.

”In recent days, I too learned from the information that emerged publicly about the situation AnimaWings is going through. I waited before taking a public position in order to understand the situation as well as possible and to have all the necessary clarifications, including from a legal perspective. I did not want to make statements before knowing exactly what the situation was and what steps I could take. For me, the shock is all the greater because this partnership, which I saw as a long-term one, is coming to an end so abruptly. I would also like to point out that, until now, I have not benefited financially from this partnership.

I want to assure you that I choose my partnerships very carefully and do not associate my name with brands I do not believe in. Unfortunately, sometimes things can change very quickly and in ways you cannot anticipate, even when you make a decision with the best intentions. I regret the situation we have reached and hope that things will be clarified as soon as possible,” Simona Halep stated.
