Senator Ciprian Paul Pintea, former member of POT, has been sent to trial for driving with a suspended license.

According to a statement from the General Prosecutor's Office, Senator Ciprian Paul Pintea was involved in a criminal act on the night of November 7, 2025, around 11:57 PM, in the municipality of Zalău.

Investigators claim that he was driving a car despite having his license suspended.

The Traffic Police of the Sălaj County Police Inspectorate made the regular signal to stop at the intersection of Andrei Mureșanu and Cloșca streets, but the senator did not comply.

The car was pursued for several hundred meters until it reached the parking lot near the Army House, where the driver was intercepted and identified. The indictment has been submitted to the High Court of Cassation and Justice, the competent court to judge the case, considering the defendant's status as a senator.
