The head of the Romanian Police initially asked police officers to identify volunteers from among relatives to search for Emil Gânj, who has been wanted for almost a month. However, the police later denied this information, emphasizing that only police officers and special forces are in charge of the search. Emil Gânj is charged with aggravated murder and destruction and has a warrant for his arrest in absentia. The Europol union has reported difficult conditions for police officers during the searches, but IPJ Mureș rejected these complaints, saying that the work is being carried out professionally.
