Dorel Dorin Moldovan, a 28-year-old inmate from Baia Mare Penitentiary, escaped on Wednesday from an external work point, and was later caught on Friday in the municipality.

The Maramureș County Police announced that his identification and capture were possible due to continuous operational activities, mobilization of forces, and cooperation between police officers, gendarmes, and prison police. At the time of his capture, Moldovan was subdued without incident and was returned to the custody of the authorities. The leadership of the Maramureș County Police thanked the teams involved for their efforts.

It was also emphasized that the man's partner was always safe, with surveillance measures in place. Moldovan escaped after an argument with his partner, and the police urged citizens not to approach him, but to call 112 if they see him.
