A man wanted by authorities for five years was found in an apartment in Bucharest. He was sentenced to 18 years for trafficking minors.

A 39-year-old man, wanted internationally since November 3, 2021, was discovered on Tuesday in an apartment in Bucharest, according to an announcement made by the Capital Police. Investigations carried out by the Criminal Investigation Service led to the identification of the address where the suspect was located.

The man, for whom the Bucharest Tribunal issued a warrant for the execution of the sentence, was convicted for trafficking minors in a continuous form, human trafficking, and forming an organized criminal group. After the discovery, he was taken to the police and is set to be incarcerated in a penitentiary in Bucharest, having to serve a sentence of 18 years in prison.
