The second fragment of the Gerbera drone, with explosive charge, discovered and neutralized on the Romanian coast

The Ministry of National Defense (MApN) announced on Sunday evening the discovery of a fragment of an aerial drone, model Gerbera, in the Gura Portiței area, a few hours after another similar fragment was found in Costinești. On August 23, a team of EOD combat divers from the Romanian Naval Forces was sent to the scene aboard a Coast Guard vessel to inspect a suspicious floating object.

After inspecting the object, the EOD team confirmed that it was a fragment of a drone that still had explosive payload. MApN stated that the object was neutralized safely, thus ensuring the security of the area. This discovery highlights the potential risks associated with drones in the region.
