The year 2026 marks a turning point for road infrastructure in Romania, with the inauguration of 285 kilometers of highway projected, an absolute record for the post-December period. The main driver of this advancement is the Moldova Highway (A7), which is expected to become almost fully operational between Ploiești and Pașcani, strategically connecting the historical region to the rest of the country and the Capital through PNRR funds.
Alongside the vital corridor to Moldova, the road map will change significantly in the south of the country, with the completion of the Craiova-Pitești Expressway and the closure of the highway ring around Bucharest (A0). These projects promise to streamline transit traffic and reduce commercial travel times; however, achieving these milestones crucially depends on maintaining the work pace on construction sites and the stability of financial flows throughout the year.
