The Minister of Internal Affairs, Cătălin Predoiu, stated that the exchange of information with American partners is essential for strengthening the relationship between the USA and Romania, based on common values and commitments to the rule of law.

During the meeting with the American ambassador, Darryl Nirenberg, cooperation in combating organized crime, drug trafficking, human trafficking, and illegal migration was discussed. Predoiu highlighted the progress made in combating human trafficking and the importance of collaboration in protecting minors online. Additionally, opportunities to strengthen economic ties were discussed, especially in the fields of energy and investments, which contribute to security. Predoiu emphasized that the priorities of the Ministry of Internal Affairs are aligned with those of the US Administration, facilitating effective cooperation to enhance the safety of citizens in both countries.
