The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania (CCIR) and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Latvia (LCCI) signed a Memorandum of Understanding on March 17, aimed at boosting bilateral economic cooperation. CCIR President Mihai Daraban emphasized the significant increase in bilateral trade, from 45.6 million euros in 2017 to over 200 million euros in 2025, highlighting the untapped potential of the partnership. LCCI, represented by President Aigars Rostovskis, mentioned that 50 member companies are interested in partnerships with Romanian firms.
The memorandum provides the necessary framework for transforming interest into concrete collaborations, considering complementary sectors such as the food industry, IT, and equipment. This initiative marks an important step in strengthening economic relations between the two countries.
