Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan has asked the ministries to accelerate the implementation of reforms and investments under the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR) to meet the commitments made by August 31, 2026. He emphasized that delays in paying invoices for completed works are unacceptable and established political responsibilities for ministers in case of loss of funds.

The Minister of Investments, Dragoș Pîslaru, mentioned that Romania needs to double the absorption of PNRR funds, aiming for a total of 73 billion lei by 2026. Local authorities will benefit from record budgets to support PNRR projects. Romania has exceeded 50% of the total value of the PNRR, having received over 10 billion euros so far. Payment requests 5 and 6 will be submitted in 2026, with a significant number of targets and milestones.
