Government institutions are targeted daily by thousands of cyber attacks, warns Defense Minister Radu Miruță.

Romania is facing an alarming increase in cyberattacks, with over 10,000 attacks monitored daily, according to Minister Radu Miruță.

Miruță emphasized the importance of establishing a clear strategy for defense against hybrid attacks, warning that the lack of such a strategy could lead to "significant disturbances."

Romanian officials indicated that many of these attacks are linked to Russia, the country being a frequent target due to its geographical position and role in NATO and the EU.

The director of DNSC, Dan Cîmpean, mentioned an increase in DDoS attacks, many originating from pro-Russia groups such as Noname057(16).

These attacks are part of a broader strategy of hybrid warfare, having both political-ideological and financial motivations.
