Interim Minister of Defense, Radu Miruţă: "I do not believe there is any intention for Russia to attack any NATO member country."

Radu Miruță, the interim Minister of Defense, stated on Sunday that he does not believe Russia intends to attack any NATO member country, emphasizing that intelligence information is correlated among member states. He mentioned that the war in Ukraine has entered a new phase, in which Russia is no longer advancing, and the wear and tear of Russian forces is no longer producing results.

Miruță highlighted the fact that Russia's air supremacy is eroded, citing a recent incident in which a Ukrainian F-16 shot down a Russian aircraft. He also mentioned drone attacks from Ukraine deep into Russian territory, suggesting that the front is in a state of stagnation. These observations suggest a change in the dynamics of the conflict, with implications for regional security.

"I do not believe there is any intention for Russia to attack any NATO member country and there are ongoing discussions. Do not think that NATO member countries are not connected, that they do not share data from intelligence services, or that they do not corroborate various analyses. Following these corroborated analyses, not only at the level of Romania, but also if you want a backup at the level of partners who conduct similar analyses, there is no indication, today," said Radu Miruță, on Digi24.
