Priest Constantin Turtureanu was assaulted and dragged out of the church by parishioners after he decided to leave the Moldovan Metropolitanate for the Metropolitanate of Bessarabia.

The incident took place in the village of Grinăuți, in the Riscani district, where the priest was roughed up by a group of believers, and the video footage was published by his wife. Police intervened and the case is under investigation. The parishioners of the Metropolitan of Moldova changed the locks of the church and Turtureanu was suspended from services. The conflict erupted over the priest's decision to change the church's jurisdiction.
