Răzvan Cuc, former Minister of Transport, has been placed under house arrest for 30 days, after the Bucharest Tribunal accepted his request to replace preventive detention. He is accused of mediating a bribe of over one million lei for the director of the Romanian Auto Registry (RAR) in exchange for the renewal of a framework agreement worth 23 million lei for the maintenance of technical inspection equipment for vehicles.

The tribunal established that, during the house arrest, Cuc and businessman Cătălin Buşe must comply with certain obligations, including not communicating with witnesses and appearing in court when summoned. The court rejected Buşe's request to leave his residence, and the decision can be contested within 48 hours. The investigation revealed that, between September and November 2025, Cuc and Buşe allegedly promised the RAR director 6% of the value of the framework agreement to influence the public procurement process.
