The head of DSU, Raed Arafat, has reacted greatly after it was reported and charged by the Military Prosecutor's Office in the case of the acquisition of a SMURD military helicopter, which would have cost approximately 4 million euros, stating that, until now, "no concrete elements have been presented to indicate the existence of any criminal acts."
He accuses that the extension of these investigations regarding him "in the absence of real and verifiable indications raises serious questions about their validity and proportionality."
The head of DSU claims that "these actions exceed the legal framework and constitute a discrediting campaign."
"In particular, I draw attention to the fact that my inclusion in these proceedings appears to be forced and artificial, by stating alleged theses of complicity or coordination of activities, in the absence of any real contribution or involvement from me in the investigated situations. Such an unjustified association cannot go unnoticed and is likely to generate significant consequences on my reputation, which, in fact, seems to be pursued directly. In this context, it becomes increasingly evident that these actions exceed the strict legal framework, outlining the characteristics of a discrediting campaign."
