The head of the Department for Emergency Situations, Raed Arafat, condemned the attack on a crew of the Cluj Ambulance Service, which took place in Recea - Cristur, Cluj County.
The incident was generated by disinformation spread on social media regarding a supposed "black ambulance that steals children." Arafat emphasized that these lies have led to unacceptable violence against rescuers, endangering both patients and intervention crews.
During the attack, the ambulance was blocked and attacked with bats, axes, and stones, and the driver suffered serious injuries. Arafat called on authorities and social media platforms to take disinformation that can generate such violent acts seriously. He reaffirmed the mission of ambulances to save lives and firmly condemned the aggression against medical personnel.
