A prosecutor was detained for 24 hours after causing a scandal on a terrace and firing a lethal weapon.

Prosecutor Radu George Bucurică, from the Prosecutor's Office next to the Caraș-Severin Tribunal, was detained on Sunday night for 24 hours, being accused of violating the weapons and ammunition regime, disturbing public order, carrying dangerous objects, and assaulting authorities.

The incident took place on the terrace of a public establishment in Ribița Commune, where the prosecutor entered with a knife, a tear gas spray, and a lethal firearm, despite having his gun carry permit revoked. Upon the police's arrival, he refused to identify himself, used the spray against the officers, and during the immobilization, fired the weapon.

The investigation is coordinated by the Prosecutor's Office next to the Alba Iulia Court of Appeal.
