Prosecutor Radu George Bucurică has remained in preventive detention after the High Court rejected his appeal. He is accused of violating the weapons regime and assault.

Prosecutor Radu George Bucurică, from the Prosecutor's Office next to the Caraș-Severin Tribunal, will remain in preventive detention after the High Court of Cassation and Justice rejected his appeal for annulment as inadmissible.

The decision was pronounced in the case in which Bucurică is accused of several offenses, including violation of the arms and ammunition regime, as well as assault. The High Court accepted the prosecutors' appeal, ordering his preventive detention for 30 days, starting from August 27.

Radu George Bucurică was detained on August 10, being involved in a scandal in a public venue in Hunedoara County, where he used a tear gas spray and fired a lethal pistol at the moment he was immobilized by the police. The investigation is conducted by the Prosecutor's Office next to the Alba Iulia Court of Appeal.
