Călin Georgescu remains in pretrial detention after the Bucharest Court of Appeal admitted DIICOT’s appeal against the Bucharest Tribunal’s decision to replace the measure with house arrest. The decision is final.

The decision was made by a panel formed to resolve a disagreement, meaning that a third judge was called because the two judges on the panel could not reach an agreement.

“It rejects as unfounded the request of the defendant-appellee to replace the measure of pretrial detention with the measure of house arrest,” the court’s minute states.
