A man was detained after entering the Alba Iulia Police headquarters with a weapon and an airsoft grenade / He asked the police officers to shoot him

A 43-year-old man from Alba Iulia was detained for 24 hours after entering the Alba Iulia Municipal Police headquarters on Saturday evening with an airsoft gun and a grenade used in airsoft games. He allegedly asked the officer at the entrance control to shoot him.

The man allegedly pointed the objects at the police officer, but was immediately restrained and handcuffed by officers inside the building. Special Actions Service officers also took part in the intervention.

During a body search, police also found a pocketknife on him. The Alba County Police Inspectorate said that the officer on duty was not injured during the incident.

Subsequently, the prosecutor handling the case from the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Alba Iulia District Court ordered the man’s detention. He is being investigated for assaulting a police officer and the unauthorized carrying or use of dangerous objects. The airsoft weapons and the grenade used in airsoft games were seized for examination.
