A drunk man was caught with a pistol tucked into his waistband in a residential complex in Voluntari

A 44-year-old man was found by police on Thursday while walking through a residential complex in Voluntari with a pistol at his waist. The Voluntari City Police had been alerted via a 112 call about the presence of a man who was intoxicated and carrying a weapon.

The officers who arrived at the scene identified him and determined that he was drunk. Initial checks did not indicate that the weapon had been used to threaten or intimidate anyone.

The pistol was seized by officers from the Ilfov Weapons, Explosives and Hazardous Substances Service for the relevant checks. Law enforcement officers are continuing their investigation to establish all details concerning the weapon and how it was carried.

The man was fined for violating the provisions of Law No. 295/2004 on the regime of weapons, essential components and ammunition. He received a fine of 5,001 lei.
