DIICOT prosecutors in Tulcea have detained a 23-year-old prison police officer for drug trafficking. He sold cannabis in the municipality of Tulcea.

The DIICOT prosecutors - Tulcea Territorial Office detained on Monday a 23-year-old prison police officer, investigated for drug trafficking. Between October 2023 and August 2026, he procured, possessed, and sold cannabis in the municipality of Tulcea, at a price of 40 lei per gram. On August 23, 2026, the officer was caught in the act in the locality of Cataloi, having approximately 200 grams of cannabis intended for sale.

Following a home search, investigators seized about 190 grams of cannabis from his residence, other doses of substances undergoing expertise, grinders, and other means of evidence. The judge of rights and liberties at the Tulcea Tribunal was notified with the proposal for the preventive arrest of the defendant for 30 days. The action was supported by the officers of the Traffic Service and the fighters of the Special Operations Service from the Tulcea County Police Inspectorate.
