The judges at the Sector 5 Court justified the decision to preemptively arrest three defendants involved in the explosion in Rahova, which occurred on October 19, 2025. Inspections conducted in the vicinity of the building revealed concentrations of methane, suggesting gas leaks at the supply line. One of the defendants, an employee of Distrigaz Sud Rețele, did not correctly identify the defect in the pipe and did not take safety measures, allowing gas to accumulate in the property. The other two defendants, plumbers from a private company, left the area without ensuring that the gases had been eliminated, thus violating their service obligations. These negligence issues led to the explosion, which is why they were preemptively arrested.
