The Prime Minister and president of PNL, Ilie Bolojan, announced that the party has opted for opposition, after the government was overthrown by a motion of censure. In a statement to Antena 1, Bolojan emphasized that PSD tried to change the leadership of PNL through this motion.

He stated that PNL's decisions will be made within the party, not in collaboration with PSD. Bolojan, a PNL member for 30 years, acknowledged the difficulty of not succumbing to the temptation of power, but emphasized that the purpose of politics is to serve the community. He also mentioned that, despite the pressures, the final decision was to remain in opposition, highlighting that a party does not disband in this position. This choice reflects PNL's desire to regain trust and to act with dignity.
