Nicuşor Dan participates on Friday in the EU–Western Balkans summit in Montenegro, where the EU expansion is being discussed.

The President of Romania, Nicușor Dan, will participate on Friday, in Tivat (Montenegro), at the EU–Western Balkans summit, organized six months after the last summit in Brussels. The event is chaired by António Costa, the President of the European Council, and hosted by Jakov Milatović, the President of Montenegro.

The main theme of the summit is "The common prosperity and stability of the EU and the Western Balkans," and leaders will discuss the prospects for the accession of countries in the region to the European Union. Nicușor Dan will emphasize Romania's support for EU enlargement, highlighting the benefits of integrating neighboring countries, such as regional development and strengthening democracy.

Presidential advisor Valentin Naumescu mentioned that Romania firmly supports the European integration aspirations of the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine, as well as the candidacies of the countries in the Western Balkans. The European summits this month are considered essential for advancing the process of European Union enlargement.
