Nicusor Dan went viral in Ukraine after adjusting his socks next to Volodymyr Zelenskyy

Romania’s President Nicusor Dan went viral in Ukraine after a moment captured during Friday’s summit, held in the Ivano-Frankivsk region. A Ukrainian journalist filmed him adjusting his socks, lifting one leg at a time while standing next to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

The gesture did not go unnoticed. Zelenskyy looked twice toward his Romanian counterpart, while the footage was shared on social media and attracted the attention of the Ukrainian public.

At the invitation of Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Nicusor Dan attended the inaugural Summit of the Initiative for Carpathian Integration. The Romanian president was welcomed by the Ukrainian leader and his wife, Olena Zelenska.

During the meeting, Zelenskyy said the initiative aims to create a framework for cooperation at European Union level in areas such as security, energy, logistics and cross-border economic exchanges. Nicusor Dan highlighted the need for closer cooperation between Carpathian countries to develop infrastructure, border crossings and energy connections, as well as to promote tourism and protect nature.
