President Nicușor Dan discussed with Antonio Costa about strengthening the Single Market, simplifying bureaucracy, and the energy transition, ahead of the informal European Council.

Nicușor Dan had a conversation with Antonio Costa, the President of the European Council, to discuss the main themes of the informal European Council that will take place on February 12. He emphasized Romania's support for strengthening the Single Market and expanding trade agreements at the EU level. Among the priorities presented are simplifying bureaucracy for businesses, a longer transition in implementing green energy policies, so that they are sustainable, and strengthening an Energy Union. He also mentioned the importance of a Multiannual Financial Framework that takes into account geographical criteria, to ensure equal access to resources for all member states, thus reducing economic disparities.
