The case of the four-year-old girl who arrived in a coma at the hospital. Her mother and her partner have been arrested for attempted qualified murder.

A young woman from Teleorman and her partner have been placed in preventive custody for attempted murder after the 4-year-old daughter of the woman was admitted in serious condition to the hospital in Târgu Jiu, having suffered a severe cranial trauma. The incident occurred on February 6, 2026, when the man assaulted the girl, causing her serious injuries.

The mother, instead of seeking medical help, continued to engage in prostitution and transported the girl a distance of 40 kilometers, thus delaying access to vital medical care. Prosecutors have stated that the man is accused of attempted qualified murder, while the woman is charged with complicity, considering that she was present at the time of the assault and did not intervene. The girl is currently hospitalized at the 'Marie Curie' Emergency Clinical Hospital for Children in Bucharest.
