Mircea Abrudean, the president of the Senate, stated that the state budget project for 2026 will be decided within the governing coalition, although its approval by the end of the year is unlikely. Abrudean emphasized the importance of discussions based on real figures and mentioned that, although there was a desire to approve the budget this year, it is essential to have a thorough analysis.

He also announced that the Senate's budget for next year will include significant spending cuts, generated by the reorganization of the institution, which has already led to savings of 10 million lei. It remains to be seen whether discussions within the coalition will progress sufficiently to allow the budget to be adopted in a timely manner.
