Radu Cristian, the mayor of Mangalia, was charged by DNA with bribery and money laundering, with a total of 645,000 euros requested between 2020-2025. The mayor received bribes for issuing urban planning documents and allowing illegal commercial activities on the beach. Among his deeds, he demanded €80,000 for failure to control people by the Local Police and €70,000 for building permits. Radu Cristian has been detained and will be proposed for remand in custody.
