The Social Democratic Party of Buzău organized an Extraordinary County Conference on Saturday, where it decided that Marcel Ciolacu, former Prime Minister and social-democratic leader, will be the PSD candidate for the presidency of the Buzău County Council in the partial local elections on December 7. The announcement was made by the president of PSD Buzău, Romeo Lungu, in the presence of interim leader Sorin Grindeanu and Ciolacu. He emphasized the importance of returning to the community and the desire to contribute with his experience. The nomination was not a surprise, as Ciolacu had previously expressed his intention to run, a position vacated after Lucian Romașcanu's departure to the European Court of Auditors. The partial local elections will take place on December 7, and candidacies can be submitted between November 12-17.
