The police in Aiud have apprehended a 46-year-old man from Sri Lanka, suspected of stealing over 77,000 euros, 400 dollars, and 17,000 lei from the administrator of the company where he was employed. The incident occurred on October 10, 2025, when the man, employed as a scrap metal collector, stole the money hidden among wood in the annex of his employer's home. The police managed to recover 4,500 euros, which were returned to the victim. The man will be presented to the Prosecutor's Office next to the Aiud Court for legal action to be taken. This situation is not unique, as there have been other cases of significant thefts in the past.
