A 40-year-old man, an employee of a company that provides online content intended exclusively for adults, is being criminally investigated for allegedly illegally transferring more than 270,000 dollars into his account. The investigation is being conducted by prosecutors from the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Bucharest Tribunal and officers specializing in combating cybercrime from the Bucharest Capital Police.

According to investigators, between 2018 and 2024, the man, authorized to administer the company’s account on an online platform, allegedly accessed the computer system illegally and modified the data concerning the payment of revenues. According to investigators, he allegedly entered his own bank account as the beneficiary instead of the company’s account, in order to collect its revenues.

Following 205 financial transactions, 270,560.46 dollars allegedly reached the suspect’s personal account, money originating from the monetization of views of content published by the company.

Last week, prosecutors initiated criminal proceedings for computer fraud and illegal access to a computer system. On Friday, investigators conducted a search, and the man was placed under judicial supervision for 60 days. The avalanche of transactions and the manner in which the bank details were allegedly changed are still being verified.
