The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAE) of Romania warns Romanian citizens who are in, transiting through, or intending to travel to the Kingdom of Belgium that a national strike will take place on May 12, 2026.

This will affect both air transport and public transport, as workers from Belgian public transport companies have joined the protest actions announced by Belgian unions. The MAE recommends that Romanians follow updated information on the websites of Belgian airports and public transport companies. Romanian citizens can request consular assistance at the phone numbers of the Romanian Embassy in Brussels, and in case of emergency, they can call a dedicated emergency number.
