The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued a travel alert for the Netherlands, where a general strike by employees in the railway system and local public transport is scheduled for Wednesday, September 9. The protest will cause major disruptions to domestic and international transport.
According to the MFA, rail traffic will be completely halted, with the exception of the “sprinter” train connecting to Schiphol Airport in Amsterdam. Local public transport will also be suspended in several cities across the country.
The Romanian authorities recommend that citizens check the availability of services in advance on the website of the national railway operator, ns.nl, as well as information published by local transport operators. Travelers are advised to plan their journeys in advance and consider alternative routes.
