The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is warning Romanian citizens in France, those transiting the country, or planning to travel there that a nationwide interprofessional strike has been announced for Thursday, accompanied by demonstrations across France.
The strike may cause disruptions to public and rail transport, air transport and airport services, education, public administration, hospitals and medical services, as well as road traffic. The Foreign Ministry recommends avoiding areas where protests are taking place, following the instructions of local authorities and planning journeys in advance.
For up-to-date information, travelers can check the SNCF Connect and Bonjour RATP apps, as well as the official websites of the operators. Flight schedules should be checked on the websites of airports and airlines.
For consular assistance, Romanians can contact the Consulate General of Romania in Paris at +33147052966 and +33147052755. In emergencies, the telephone numbers of the consulates in Paris, Marseille, Lyon and Strasbourg are available. The Foreign Ministry also recommends consulting the “Travel Informed” app.
