The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is warning Romanian citizens in Italy, those transiting through the country, or those planning to travel there that nationwide strikes will take place on September 11 and 13, 2026, potentially disrupting air traffic.
The protests are scheduled from 00:00 to 23:59 and may affect both airline flight crews and ground-handling services at Italian airports. In this context, flight delays or cancellations are possible throughout Italy.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs recommends that passengers check the information provided by airlines and airports in advance and plan their journeys taking into account any potential changes to flight schedules.
For consular assistance, Romanians may call the telephone numbers of the Consulate General of Romania in Rome; calls will be redirected to the Contact and Support Center for Romanian Citizens Abroad, which is available around the clock. In difficult or emergency situations, the hotlines of Romania’s consulates in Rome, Milan, Bologna, Turin, Trieste, Bari, and Catania may be contacted, depending on the region where the affected individuals are located.
