The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is warning Romanian citizens who are in, transiting, or planning to travel to Italy that road hauliers’ protests announced until October 27 are affecting traffic in several regions.
The most significant disruptions have been reported in Campania, Apulia, Calabria, and Sicily, particularly in the Naples metropolitan area and on the A1 and A30 motorways. Heavy goods vehicle traffic may be temporarily restricted, while freight transport may face delays and blockages.
MAE recommends avoiding the affected areas and checking traffic conditions before departure, including on the official Autostrade platform. The institution reminds Romanians that they can request consular assistance via the telephone numbers of the Consulate General of Romania in Rome, which are available at all times through redirection to the Contact and Support Center for Romanian Citizens Abroad.
In difficult situations or emergencies, citizens can call the numbers of Romania’s consulates in Rome, Milan, Bologna, Turin, Trieste, Bari, and Catania. MAE also recommends consulting the consular websites, the official page, and the “Travel Informed” app.
