Lot 4 of the Sibiu–Pitești Motorway, between Curtea de Argeș and Tigveni, will open to traffic in November, Transport Minister Ștefan Ovidiu Popa announced while inspecting the works. The section is approximately 10 kilometers long, and physical progress has reached 99.22%.

The minister said that the contractor is currently inspecting the safety equipment. Approximately 2,500 systems, cameras and sensors have been installed along the section to monitor and ensure traffic after the opening.

During the presentation, the official referred to the Momaia Tunnel, approximately 1.35 kilometers long, as the “Momoa Tunnel.” The correct name is Momaia.

While Section 4 is nearing completion, work on Sections 2 and 3 is affected by issues related to the revised environmental permit. According to the minister, the construction sites are operating at approximately 45% capacity, and the administrative deadlock could cause delays. To identify a solution, he was due to meet with Environment Minister Natalia Intotero and the technical teams of the two institutions.
