A former murder accomplice of Emil Gânj, an internationally wanted man, has been arrested in Germany following cooperation between Romanian police and German authorities

Liviu Ilie Sălăgean has been located and captured in Karlsruhe, Germany, as part of a Romanian Police action to capture fugitive Emil Gânj. The German authorities, including the BKA, worked with Romanian police to arrest him, having two European Arrest Warrants in his name. Sălăgean was sentenced to two years in prison for driving a vehicle without a license and one year and four months for influencing witnesses. He was previously convicted of murder. He will be presented to the German judicial authorities to decide on his surrender to Romania.
